The Eastside Aztecs program hosted their first ever introductory clinic on December 5, 2007 at the Mathson Middle School in San Jose, California. On a bright, sunny morning a small group of boys joined Eastside coaches Iliad Rodriguez, Tyr Rodriguez, and Keith Allen in learning the lacrosse basic skills of passing, catching, scooping, and cradling. The new players took to lacrosse immediately and were enthusiastically scrimmaging by the end of the session.
This clinic was sponsored by the Eastside Aztecs Lacrosse Club, a new team playing in spring 2008 in the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association, the league for youth lacrosse in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The Eastside program is currently recruiting new athletes for the upcoming spring season. They will hold another introductory clinic on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:30am at Mathson Middle School.
